The College of Business offers two degree programs for students interested in a career in the worldwide Tourism industry. Both degrees provide a solid foundation in core business courses which better equip students for management positions.

Master of Business Administration degree -
Tourism Destination Development Concentration

This concentration is designed to offer qualified graduate students the opportunity to study business administration while developing special expertise in the development of a destination marketing organization for a country, state, region or city. To achieve these ends, students will focus their elective courses in the area of tourism.

Students choosing to concentrate in tourism destination development must complete the 21 semester credit hours of M.B.A. courses containing the foundations of knowledge and an additional 12 semester credit hours of graduate tourism elective courses from the following:

MKT 5303 - Destination Strategic Planning
MKT 5313 - Marketing & Selling Destinations
MKT 5323 - Managing Public Policy Issues
MKT 6933 - Internship in a Destination Marketing Organization
MKT 6963 - Independent Study in Tourism
MKT 6973 - Special Problems

Bachelor of Business Administration degree -
Marketing with a Tourism Concentration

This concentration is designed to offer undergraduate students an opportunity to study business administration with an emphasis on marketing that will prepare them for a tourism management position anywhere in the world. For the motivated student, careers are possible in hotels, theme parks, event management companies, casinos, resorts, convention and visitors bureaus, cruise lines, museums, historic sites, airlines, and more!
